gangs are there b/c the culture that gang members come from glorifies it. the music (most rap), the clothes, the language, etc., etc. You want to fix gangs? fix the depraved culture which vomits them out. your diagnosis is a bit off, friend. its not the gov's fault, its the people's fault.

fer real, wild hundreds isnt all poor. there are some crack blocks and the block right next to it isnt. michigan ave is shitty, but there are side streets right next to it with beautiful homes.

I grew up in the wild hundreds. If you know Chicago, it's gangsters everywhere. The bricks don't even come close to representing all gangsters. Grew up with working class people whose kids became Vice Lords and Stones. My next door neighbor had access to computers, but it didn't stop him from becoming GD and robbing drug dealers, which in turn led to contracts on him, which then led to murders. Many gangsters are not poor and desperate. It's a choice some make.

Only problem is that I grew up on the South Side of Chicago. There were gunshots every night. I went to sleep lullabyed by them. He may have done it on New Year for dramatic effect, but if you live in the hood, you know damn well that what he's saying is true.
