Wow, so much "hater comments" below. The only difference between this machine and a real world engineering project are the following: 1.) Complete detail and assembly drawings with full parts list and price. 2.) Engineering Change notice for production manager to sign 3.) A customer willing to buy this. My only advice ditch the catia and learn to use solidworks or inventor which is easily installable on your laptop and it's affordable.

In solidworks you should make a model of the ground. Extrude a simple solid plate, and also radius the feet. Then use a tangential mating constraint between the feet and the ground plate to actually simulate walking on a real surface. Good luck.

Hey dude..did u design this..or the guy u mentioned..joe klann or something..is that joe a poly student himself...btw ur a Uni student or a poly??? I used solid works 2007 for my final year project in Poly....just curios....:-)
