My husband doesn't look at his family the way you do. He values his 3 young men and his wife. One of our boys has graduated college and one is about to graduate from college in psychology and one about to begin college.

I contributed a great deal to the smooth running of the ship we call our home.

@humynism Here is the primary source in the US with the conclusion that women are paid less entirely due to their choice of job, not due to sexual discrimination. The ~25% difference is also documented to be due to women working fewer hours per week.

@thompsoncorey Privileges as shorter work weeks, shorter commutes, work indoors, work on a fixed schedule, work at a fixed location, no overtime (unpaid or not), less workplace danger, work at night.

Women make ~ 25% less because more women choose part-time jobs which offer fewer hours, and thus, a lower annual income. Of course, the 25% figure does not include women that are completely out of the workforce, such as lifetime stay-at-home women and mothers.

Seven days are the number needed for women to work to accumulate the same number of workplace deaths as men.

If women were paid less for the same job, there would be no economic incentive to hire men. Apprently, there are no smart businessmen or businesswomen that are able to run a large corporation with an exclusively female workforce while many are able to run with nearly all men.

I haven't met a women that hasn't made more then me in the same profession fyi.

Maybe men make more money in general because they are willing to work in more severe conditions (which has already been proven)

Not to mention the pregnancy leave.
