Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu is the Kenjutsu (swordsmanship) style created by Miyamoto Musashi(1584-1645). The ryu is famous by it's two swords techniques. There are also techniques with only the long sword (as show in this video), short sword and with bo (staff).

  • I think it is Tora Buri

  • If I remember right, the two kata performed here are tora bura (tiger sweeping) and moji gamae (crossed attitude/position).

  • If anyone has another video of hyoho niten ichi ryu I would love if you posted it. I'm iterested in this style, but there is know school even close to me that teaches it.

  • Nice reminds me of the book of Miyamoto Musahi where he dodge so many blows from other people and hit them with one strike with a wooden sword.

  • I thought it was eight cuts that involved two swords. Well, I've been wrong before, but...

  • you may be right, I knew it was something like that. I thought it was 7, but I'm not positive.
