@frotz661 It may very well be a fumarole. I just say boiling mud pot. It's probably not mud. The hole may be filled with lava or volcanic ash but it was boiling hot and bubbling.

Mt. Lassen is an active volcano, part of the Ring of Fire, so this mud pot is one of it's many vents. I don't know how hot it is, just that it's too hot to touch.

No. Not me. I have a great deal of respect for nature. This particular mud pot is right along the road, which is where I was standing when I made this video. :-)
