No but seriously. In my opinion, he has one of the greatest actor voices ever. Possibly tied with Alan Rickman, Hugh Laurie and Benedict Cumberbatch.

I woulda never known he smoked with that smooth voice he has. The man's voice is the sound equivalent to red wine, seriously.

As someone who quit smoking 4 years ago after puffing for 30 years plus, I can strongly relate to what Jeremy Irons said - in what I suspect was his much younger days.
Quitting smoking is noted to be physically harder on the body than withdrawal from heroine. Why? B/c nicotine rewires the brain & activates pleasure centres that ease (at least appear to ease) tension & anxiety. Easy to understand why smoking can become your best friend in good times & bad.
Simply, quitting is hell.
