Is it possible that she has a sinus headache and sinus congestion and the activator is being used to clear her sinuses? Not what an activator was originally designed for, but it just might serve a dual purpose. :-)

Actually I've heard that activator adjustments of the sinuses are extremely effective at clearing congestion. It doesn't look like much, but the velocity of the activator is actually pretty incredible. The facial bones do slide with force applied on them (not very much, but they do). You can think of it as jarring the sinuses just enough to get the mucous to drain (like you shake a ketchup or mustard bottle to get the ketchup out).
