this stuff grows like crazy in my backyard, I live in southeast Louisiana. Cane arrows were used longggg ago by many native tribes in Louisiana and till this day they are still used by the same tribes to make cane baskets and arrows

bambusa gracilis, I'd say! I have about 20 shafts with 5-8ft of usable diameter! trying to develop the technique to make it straight!

@gabrieow I know what you mean. I have not made any in about a year because they last (don't break much). It is getting time to make more, I have to brush up on my straightening technique again. If you have not seen my video on the nail field points, check it out. They have worked out really well.

@Disbeat123: Right, it is stacked rectangles of cardboard pressed between two pieces of 3/4 plywood with 3/8" all thread rod on each side.

suvival dude: I bought the 8 to 10mm 4 feet long. That is = to 5/16 to 3/8". Keep in mind about half of them will not be good enough for an arrow
