Tex pays tribute to Merle in this song from his 1974 "Those Lazy Hazy Days" album! I'm gonna be honest, I prefer the latter part of Tex's career, for some reason. Then again, I never really got into 40's and 50's country. Call me crazy :)

Hey Hey I'am a working man too!!! , and I can't beleive, I just found an autographed 8-track disk to my father, who had a country and western band, Larry Bohl and the Bohl Weevils in Jacksonville, OR. in the 60's and 70's. I waz a rocker, but I now love all this original country MUSIC!!!

My husband and I wrote this swing and we haven't heard it in years. The tail of it keeps cutting out. Can you upload it again and fix that. We have the album but no record player.

I never liked "reply" or "take off" songs very much. I always thought they didn't reflect a very high level of creativity. But, Tex has a very distinctive voice, and I like his singing even though I didn't always like his song choices so much.
