http://www.dolphinstreet.com Demonstrating how the tone doesn't change on the Mack GEM, as you switch between 4 watts and 0.4 watts. The gain selector switch was set to Normal throughout this video. I used a Squier Telecaster with DiMarzio Virtual T pickups, and a Michael Kelly Patriot Shadow with fairly high output pickups for this example. No effects were used in this video. • Please teach us some licks!!!

  • it radically decreases the sound, but gives it the same tonality and breakup at a lower volume.

  • thats super quiet how is that usable? i could here the acoustic sound of the strings more..

  • I don't think you get the point of what he is showing. Lowering the wattage shouldn't affect the sound or breakup, and that is what he shows you. Hooking up an attenuator isn't going to affect your breakup. Where you set the volume IS what is going to affect the breakup. Less watts means you can put the volume higher to get this breakup at respectable volume levels. Not touching the volume and using the attenuator should not alter the sound, and that is what he is showing!

  • So the attenuator doesn't do anything ? I thought we're suppose to get nice tube breakup if you step down the wattage. Apparently this isn't the case for this particular amp. Time to return the amp ?

  • whats that lick from 1:08-1:14

  • 0.4 watts? damn.

  • good stuff
