A nice defensive move on the smaller player. Fortunately they were wearing helmets and pads which makes it safe compared to the Australian NRL. Nice hit though.

I would like to say something to those who compare Rugby to AF.

They are not the same sport so the use of gear does not in of itself make it safer. If you played Rugby and then added protective gear then you might say that it is now safer...however the gear is there to protect against major injuries but it causes minor injuries.

and FYI...Insurance companies have AF as a Stage 4 sport wheras Rugby(Union & League) are Stage 2 sports. Thus the chance of injuries are much greater in AF.

I'm guessing you live in the states where Rugby is not as prominent as AF, and hence

you don't play at the level like say us here in New zealand.

By the way Rugby League is even more physical than Union because of that fact

that it's mainly tackling oriented, it's often cited as the most physical team sport in the world.

i play both rugby and american football and i would say as far as people getting hurt american football leads but for people losing parts of their body it is rugby.

The only difference between that hit and Rugby, Is that we have to rap out arms around them, It cant be a simple hip and shoulder hit.

I beleive it is ILLEGAL to make a hit like that in the NRL because of the lack of equipment...I want any aussi to look at that hit and say it wouldn't hurt...Freaking aussies always thinking they have a harder sport...just give up no one cares, they are two different sports
