So I have multi channel soundrack for localized audio behind each skull as well as general audio for music. Because of that I used Ableton Live to control the audio and used Ableton's midi tracks for the show control of lighting and robotics. Keeps everything in sync very nicely and has great UI for choreography. I built a custom piece of hardware to do the MIDI to DMX translation. DMX controls lighting and DMX controls robotics through DMX->Servo translation hardware

What are you using as the show controller? In the past I have used VSA and Animated Lighting (real hard to sync shows between the two). This year however I am in the process of switching everything into one master show using VenueMagic.
