The woman is also not allowed to let a man that is not her mahram into the house if her husband or mature son is not home. Same applies to the husband. This includes in-laws

I never knew that you can't intermingle with your sister in-law or your cousins. Sheikh Feiz mentioned an Hadith about this, but he didn't give reference. Anyone know where I can find this Hadith that says you are not going to Heaven if you let your wife intermingle with brother in-law or cousin, jazaklah khairun.

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: Keep yourselves away from strange women. One companion asked: "O Rasul of Allah, tell me, can the husband's brother mix freely with his sister-in-law." Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam replied : "He is like death for a woman." (Bukhari and Muslim)
Unfortunately it is extremely common in our society that in-laws mix freely. The husband says "oh but its only my brother. He wouldn't .... "
