This is the first of six installments from the Angel Records LP, "Gerald Moore - The Unashamed Accompanist," a recorded talk in which Moore (Commander of the Order of the British Empire, 1899-1987) discusses the art of accompanying, with musical illustrations (provided at the piano). According to the program notes on the LP jacket: "The importance of the piano part in a song is shown, how it paints pictures, tells stories, evokes moods. And some of the problems are discussed -- with point and wit -- such as balance and transposition. Among Lieder used as examples are Schubert's Wohin, Auf dem Wasser zu Singen, Der Lindenbaum, Das Wandern, Wanderers Nachtlied, Tränenregen, Frühlingstraum, Die Allmacht, Im Frühling, Der Einsame and Erlkönig, and Brahms' Vergebliches Ständchen and Der Schmied."
The LP serial number is 35262.
Images are from the LP jacket (front and reverse) and the record label, supplemented with what I could collect from the internet.

@davidhertzberg At last! (;-D) SOMEhow I am a late starter when it comes to great posts, but I do cotton on in time, and then the light dawns.

Thank you so much for uploading this! Is this the only lecture by Gerald Moore?

I have two copies of this LP, one for listening and the other for keeping. I'm honored to inform this was issued in CD format as TESTAMET SBT 1176 in 1999 with a previously unpublished recording of Schumann's 'Ich gralle nicht' from Dichterliebe: Gerald Moore voice and Victoria de los Angeles piano. It's not a typo, GM is singing, surely for the first time in his long recording career.
