These videos are dedicated to my Uncle Charles Kirkman (radio operator gunner serving 32 combat missions) the last survior of the Ice Cold Katy and the brave men of the 401st bomber group that defended our freedom during WW II. The average survival rate for airmen on combat missions was 16 missions.

  • I was talking to a 401st mechanic today, he was from Vermont with his wife and was a nice man, he had alot to tell!

  • My Uncle, Duane (Steve) Brody was with the 614th BS in Deenethorpe- we still have his A-2 and flying helmet.

    Would sure like to find someone that knew him and get some stories to pass on...
