Way I see it, guns are built to meet standards. If you don't maintain your rifle, yes I believe accidents can happen. But then again, I'm a firm believer, in keeping a gun clean. So, I dunno I don't believe this. They also said this about a SKS. It's like a vehicle without proper maintenance, you're gonna run into problems.

You'd think if there was a design flaw in the Mauser setup that the Germans would have found it sometime between 1898 and 1962, and Remington wouldn't have copied it. My Mauser was made in 1943 and defiled by a bunch of Russian commies and it's STILL perfectly reliable.

I have had a 700 for years. Because of the CNBC story, I bought 2 more. CNBC are liers. I love my 700s and Remingtons are outstanding rifles, good shotguns too.

Why was the gun even pointed at the kid in the first place. and did you see how bad the condition the rifle was in. I've seen old ranch guns that stay out on the quad in way better condition
-
I own many model 700 rifles. They are the best and the safest.

i have one and i messed with it and nothing happen
-
i have to say the 710's and 770's were a huge let down though

i have 6 rem 700's with several thousand rounds through all of them. one broken extractor being the only problem ever(replaced free of charge). firearms are only as dangerous as their owners. i really liked the old rem trigger and really like the new x-mark, cant understand why anyone would screw with either.
