I hope these brave Rangers know how many people around the world are thankful for their work. Ranger Shamavus seems to be very dedicated as his interactions with the baby gorilla were very sweet.
Is it assumed that if the baby has been poached, the mother gorilla was killed?

what a loss to the world, and what a crime, if these amazing animals disappear.

Thank goodness for people like this, without them this world would be in a much worse state than it already is.

This is happening now in our lifetime .. an entire species being wiped out !!
Please give these rescue centers your support .. they are the Gorillas only lifeline.

Thanks to the Rangers who care so for these little ones. God is paying attention to what you are doing. I believe He is smiling in approval.
OriginalPinkbird: yes, it's assumed that the mother was killed. They are very protective of their babies. Very unlikely that a baby could be taken while the mother is not looking, or that the mother wouldn't fight to save it (or the Silverback whose job it is to protect his family), and no human could run faster than a gorilla mother after her child.
