Police shoot family dog over lost wallet - (Very graphic)

A Cookeville police car's dash-cam that shows Tennessee State Troopers shooting a North Carolina family's dog at I-40 stop (around 3:03 in the video). It happened while the family was returning from their vacation in Nashville. Police say they stopped them because they "matched the description" in a robbery that had just occurred (they were actually innocent of any crime). The officer who shot the dog (Eric Hall) hasn't been punished for the episode; he has only been reassigned to "administrative duties". You can hear them saying please don't let the dog out we'll get him" and the cop lets the dog out and then shoots him.

Here is Pamela Smoaks account of asking, after she was in handcuffs, for the car door to be closed:
I asked the officer who was standing next to my son, about two feet from the open door to please shut the door so my dog wouldnt get out. I asked him several times, and he refused to shut the door.

My dog then came out of the car and ran towards the officer with the shotgun and flashlight. We started yelling to please let us get him, dont shoot, he was only barking at the flashlight and jumping at the light. My son plays with him using a flashlight.

The actual reason why the cop shot the dog is that it was interfering with scene security. Thats a pretty standard procedure in emergency services and law enforcement.

@jctSC2388 Unless, the dog attacks you it's ok, shoot it. But, if it barks at you, and you shoot it to "over protect yourself" it is wrong. The cop in the video "is a wimp". If a dog bark at me I would back up and "let it bark" all it want's.

@123tonysony If civilians were as quick to use deadly force as the police are we would be in prison. The police are way to insulated from the laws that they are supposed to uphold. The legislative branch of the government has grown far too powerful and it is getting worse. If you were to be with your dog in a park or something and it came up to me and barked at me you are saying that it is perfectly ok if i were to shoot the dog? i can legally carry a gun

This is only one cop. These kind of stuff rarely happens. But just because you saw 2 or 8 videos of cops shooting an animal for self defense, it doesn't mean you should hate cops because of it. You dumb-asses make cops sound like there the bad guys.

Stupid inbred hillbillies that got picked on in high school should not be able to be a police officer. There should be standards. Nor should those inbred hillbillies have acces to guns. They are too stupid for the pulblic, therefore they need to surrender to the state and be put in a mental institution, or use good ole youth in asia. Hell maybe as direct as thiers.
