in my strength class we are suppost to bend our legs when we go up and down with that. to like help catch the weight. or something.. but yeah is it the same exact thing?

I recently discovered that if I clean the weight up to the starting position (as opposed to taking the weight from a rack), I can actually lift noticeably more weight.
Only conclusion I can come to is that by cleaning the weight up, I'm giving my CNS some kind of extra boost.

@sergio311 Another nice try homo, but I squat 315 @175 lb bodyweight. I also overhead press 160. Plus I'm better at English than you. You continually lose.

I don't agree with how he said too wide a grip is wrong. It just puts more emphasis on the shoulders than the triceps
