Paul Pierce - Fierce

Paul Anthony Pierce (born October 13, 1977 in Oakland, California) is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the NBA. He has been a starter every season since being selected by the Celtics in the 1998 NBA Draft. He also led Boston to an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2002. After his NBA debut, Pierce's ability to score, rebound, and a healthy dose of late-game heroics led to his emergence as a top player in the Eastern Conference. Paul was selected with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 1998 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.

Pierce has often played his best games against the best individual competition, such as LeBron James, Tracy McGrady, and Kobe Bryant. For instance, Pierce scored a career high 50 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 15, 2006. After the game, James stated that he feels that Pierce is the top at the position in the Eastern Conference. In the 2005-06 NBA season, Pierce had the highest points-per-shot average among the top 30 scorers in the league, indicating that he is an efficient and consistent player.

Pierce, who has been with the Celtics for 9 years, is tied with Zydrunas Ilgauskas of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks for fourth place among active players who have played their entire NBA career for one team. Pierce became the first Celtics player since Larry Bird to reach 2,000 points in a single season.

the only reason pierce said that was cuz he never got any love throughout his career. what else does he suppose to do. he been there with the cs thro out. the good n bad. lead them to 3 con finals n one title. n he wins finals mvp. he played great d on kobe bryant n blew out the lakers in the final gm of the finals. now what does he suppose to do to deserve respect. kg never really did anything in minni until he got 4 all star players. 4 in wally, sam, spree n counting himself.

well pierce didnt do anything till KG and ray came. but i guess he did do well when it mattered most. pierce is a phenomenal player and i guess he had the right to say it. ijust don't really like anyone saying things like that about themselves but pierce did have the rights after the finals.

well i agree to i dont like when people say things like they r the best etc. i agree with u on that my friend. but pierce is a great player. to make it to the conf finals basically without any other help cuz walker was good for a few yrs in my opinon n just died off. n pierce was left to do most of the work. n he did all he could do.  sure ray and kg r stars. but pierce is still there best player n without a front court nearly took them to the conf finals again against a great magic team

Like i said. Paul Pierce has NO REASON TO SAY HES THE BEST PLAYER. Hes great but he can't carry a team without KG and a couple other stars... maybe next season with the big ticket back

I respect ur opinoin tony my friend, but think about it. paul is a true leader. he has lead the cs to 3 conf finals. n won finals mvp. if kg was the better player than y he didnt win the finals mvp. n he surely was given a gift with the defensive player of the yr award as howard, samuel, n others were clearly better on d than kg going 7 with hawks n cavs n he struggle a bit against the lakers in the finals to. pierce is a great player n has a right to claim best player last yr no doubt.

Pierce is BY FAR THE MOST UNDERRATED SUPERSTAR IN THE NBA RIGHT NOW I BELIEVE. Never seen someone so good in a while that doesnt get the respect he deserves. I ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF PIERCE SINCE HIS ROOKIE DAYS. Always respected him. A class act on and off the courts. A guy who PLAYS HARD N PLAYS THE GAME THE RIGHT WAY. I am so fed up with the wheelchair shit. Have you ever played the fucking game? I myself experienced a shock after an injury. You not always understand if there is something or not. One time I couldn't move, I was sure I broke a leg, but five minutes later I was on court, it turned out ok. And another time I played the whole game with a broken finger without even noticing. I agree with this guy. I am a huge celtics and PP fan. However, I thought the wheelchair was a bit excessive!
