and she was my teacher , too. at John Marshall High School. I idealized her. Didn't the boyfriend play the cello? I remember seeing her read her poetry in Venice when I was a young adult.....living there. and clearly, I am still looking for her.

WOW! I remember Ms. Prado, too! She was a generous high school English teacher with a sexy looking boy friend who had a cool car. We watched her and thought her a most wonderful and exotic adult!

Holly Prado was the best and most flexible English teach I have ever had. The fact that I can remember her after 40 years is a testament to what she did for me as young writer. She DIDN't make me do an outline--but the others had to. I've forever been grateful. Now that I'm a teacher, I try to pass on the flexibility. And, oddly, we share the same hairstyle.
