Battlefield 3: Helicopter Gunner Tips + Loadout

Hey guys. I know a bunch of you have been requesting Helicopter gunner gameplay so here you go. I'm gunning in the AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter using stealth, IR flares, and TV missiles. Enjoy!

I'm confused about load outs for the gunner/pilot, if I give both of them IR flares, does that mean we can use them twice in a row with no wait time?

Do you think you could also mention the counters to certain tactics/vehicles? In most situations against choppers, infantry always seem to lose. It takes a squad and a half with stingers to take attack choppers down in most situations I've found.

I love the thermal-optics myself, as I just can't properly spot enemies otherwise.

Another tip for knowing where the pilot is aiming is to use the rectangular box beneath the crosshair on the screen. The little square inside the box is where u're aiming compared to the nose of the chopper. If ur in the middle of the box ur aiming in the same line as the pilot. This is useful for the pilot too. E.g: if u hear the gunner spotting something just check the box where the gunner is aiming and turn the chopper in that direktion.

@bobenbob123 you need a good pilot to be able to use cover to break the lock ons and maybe the "below radar" perk/attachment thing

How do you never get shut down? I run the same set up as you but I always get locked on, and the sheer number of people eventually destroys me.

@SC0OBYSN4XX It's weird. I know about the aim box and yet i never look at it. It's probably because I'm so used to the constant minimap glance that i just use that instead.
