  • Thank you for the very kind feedback on the video!

I was very disappointed that it failed after such short a period of time. We purchased it new directly from KitchenAid as they were offering a rebate at the time. We used the shredder attachement during the 1st year once, so I dont think it was that. I think a tooth on the bevel gear snapped off (maybe was weak) which caused binding and furthur damage. It appears the bevel gear is not made of as solid of material as the other gears.

  • @cbaiocco I have had the bevel gear on two different Pro 600s break a combined total of 6 times. It's not an odd gear to break. I finally gave up and ordered a Bosch Universal Plus for mixing bread dough (which I do 2-4 times per week). I would like to use these instructions and fix it hopefully for the last time, and then only use it to make cookie dough, frosting, etc. All previous 6 repairs were done by an authorized shop, some of which were covered by the warranty.

  • Fixed it yesterday-the worm follower gear had seven teeth that had been ground down flat (not broken-there were no metal pieces anywhere). Thank you again. Your clear instructions and video gave me the confidence to tackle this, and I got the job done for $20 instead of $200. Not to mention the satisfaction of being able to fix something myself. Many thanks!

  • This is an amazing video! I've been staring at my KitchenAid for months now, collecting dust, not willing to spend an unspecified amount to send it off for repairs. This was so clear and thorough, I can't wait to get in there tomorrow and order my new parts! (I already ordered an Electrolux Assistent, and couldn't be happier with it for tough bread dough, but am missing this machine for little batches of cookies, etc...) Thanks so much!

  • Excellent Video! Very well done! It's too bad that you had to fix it so early in it's life. These mixers are supposed to last a lifetime. Was it purchased refurbished? Odd gear to break. do you think that the gearbox wasn't assembled properly or an attachment was used and jammed?
