get your EMT/ Paramedic certifications, then go apply at a dept, after you work for them for a little while, they will send you to the Fire Academy...at least thats how it is in Mississippi.....

look to local colleges, or community colleges in your area, go in and talk to them, they usually have AS degree programs, or good for local fire schools in your area. or just go to your local fire department and talk to the guys or girls there.
