http://www.ted.com What was the greatest invention of the industrial revolution? Hans Rosling makes the case for the washing machine. With newly designed graphics from Gapminder, Rosling shows us the magic that pops up when economic growth and electricity turn a boring wash day into an intellectual day of reading. TODAY: From 11:30am-1:30pm EDT, Hans Rosling will be answering questions in TED Conversations. Pop over!

What about laundrettes? Does anyone know whether he's talking about access-to or ownerships? I don't have a private jet, but I do use airlines...

the Larouche movement talks about this. How the environmentalist movemnt is controlled by the NWO. NWO uses environmentalism to control the left, and free-trade neoliberal economics to control the right. The environmentalist movement is an eugenics program to reduce human population. Human beings need to expand our technological understanding to get more out of less with higher energy flux density. Buckminister Fuller says the same thing.

40 C can wash away most dirt. Most (populated) places on earth can heat water to that temperature by routing the water through an enlarged surface, hit by sun. The most efficient electrical engines - to rotate the washing drum - could be driven by solar panels and/or local wind turbines. Add a bit insulation around the washing compartment and even better. Share a machine between 10 persons, like in most Nordic apartment blocks. Not much energy is needed.
