Golf 1 Diesel 1977 first run

First run after 18 years - Built in January 1977, 1500cc diesel, 5 doors, miami blue.
The story is, I found this car in a barn. 2km from my own stockage of 2 other golf 1's.
And its a diesel of 1977 (first year of the diesels).
But it was standing there since 1989, so after 18years and an age of 31 year, the car started immediately!
So, what you can see here, is an alive and kicking old golf!
But there is still a lot of work to do...

Nice car! I use a 1982 1600 Mk1 diesel, 5 speed everyday to get to work and it never lets me down. It's suprisingly refined once it's warmed up and these engines just go on and on. It's the bodywork you have to keep on top of after 28 years! Good luck with yours.

Well, she's technical almost ok.

But in a few years, it will be fully restored.

At this moment, she's in a deep hibernation in the barn.

Brings back memories of summer, driving around in my '82 rabbit 1.6d. Now the car sits in my yard, awaiting summer again. The sound of the na diesel is great.

That just warms my heart, dude. It's nice to see that old thing so well-restored. My first car was a '79 Rabbit (the name of the Golf in North America) diesel. Slow as hell but cheap to run and loads of fun to drive! :)
