1. Set up the tripod properly, ie rough level over station @ proper height

2. Now take the instrument out of the case and set on tripod.

They were very clumsy in how they setup the instrument. Only one person should handle the instrument, not at the same time. Also, the plumb bob is impractical in this video. Plumb bobs still have practical uses, but that is why there is an optical plumb on these instruments, and it is even used in this video. Newer instruments have a laser plumb, but if there isn't one, position the tip of your foot near the point and rough locate it through the optical plumb.

Turning angles to a level rod is laughable.

Please get a local Land Surveyor to show you how to do this correctly. Your terminology is not industry standard. For example, what you call "angle locks" are called "clamps." The fine tune knob is called a "fine motion screw." Adjust the tripod height before you put the instrument on it.

This is absolutely disgusting. You don't treat a surveying instrument like this. First of all, the beginning of the video, these two idiot are handling the instrument so rough, I'm sure the instrument came off of Traverse Point. I refuse to go on, perhaps next time @KUSurveyor decides to put up a tutorial video, take better care of the instrument or you will be replacing instruments faster than you can recruit students.

I got bored watching it so didn't see the ending and forget part 2. It ran like one of those for dummy books. I do not proclaim to be highly intelligent, but just show the things that matter otherwise boredom does begin to set in and same as at what happens at school - you get bored and miss the interesting stuff too. Also I'm sure this could have been presented in a much more interesting manner. Thanks anyway :)
