This is a new song I wrote in the end of autumn. All credits for the lyrics go to Katherine Priddy.

Lemme know what you think ~

LYRICS:

The days were long when you were little,
Running homewards down the lane, your knees grazed, summer in your hair.
The river told us all her secrets,
Telling tales of times to come, your mother always told you I was bad,

I'd like to tell you of the future,
The morning seems so young,
You find the night was just a mirror,
Of the day still yet to come,
But don't cry, you will flood the world you worked so hard to build,
Let's dream, let's dream, together.

And she runs through woods towards a sun,
With her dress torn wildness in her eyes,
Won't you slow down a little for me dear,
I'd hate for you to fall down,
Just stay with me a little while
Can't you hear the storm clouds brewing?
I'll spin you a little bedtime tale,
Of how a girl became a woman.

A woman sits at her piano,
Sings a tune her mother sang, stares out of the window down the lane,
Where the leaves are growing redder,
A breath of wind and they are gone, autumn tucks her sun behind the fields.

Sometimes she hears the sound of children,
As they tumble down the hills,
And her mind wanders to her river,
Though the water's long been still,
I wonder if she can still recall the day I found her there?
There were flowers, flowers, in her hair.

And she runs through woods towards a sun,
With her dress torn fire in her eyes ,
Won't you slow down a little for me dear,
I'd hate for you to fall down,
Just stay with me a little while
Can't you hear the storm clouds brewing?
I'll spin you a little bedtime tale,
Of how a girl became a woman.

Slow down, my lady,
Slow down, child

When he comes knocking at your door,
Nights will chill your heart no more,
I just hoped it would be me.
If you go to the riverside one day,
You'll find that our ghosts still play,
With flowers in our hair

And we'll run through woods towards a sun,
With our clothes torn freedom in our eyes ,
The winter falls upon a river,
Where the water's long since vanished
Oh daaaaa-aaaaa-aaaarling
