The reason why the 1080i/p isn't filling the screen is because at that moment you were watching commercials which still aren't typically shot in a HighDef/widescreen format yet even if you are watching a Digital or High Defintion broadcast.

Another samsung sucker. 18 months from now this poor sole might be crying in his beer looking at a blank screen. Before U buy this crap please do a good web search to find out why thousands of samsung customers are screwed and pissed off big time with this company. The cheap parts they use burn out just after the warranty expires. Don't be a SAMSUNG SUCKER like this guy. Do a little research before U buy or you might be sorry later.

Well, this poor "sole" (you meant "soul") has just passed 2 years with this Samsung and is still delighted with it. I DID do research before buying this set, and there are reasons why it's one of the top 3 HDTV sets made.

Sorry, I use that 20" Sharp TV all the time...doesn't bother me that the Samsung is not centered!....but it IS directly across from where I sit on the couch.
