That's a typical chinese passenger train, hardly any privacy, but the only good way to travel in china if you want to get a good night sleep.

These are the "hard sleepers" there are also "soft sleepers" which have doors and are 4 berth rather than the 6 betth seen here. The hard sleepers cost a little more.
