Relay For Life tomorrow night, Lake Minnetonka Today TV news, Thursday, July 23

The Relay For Life of Lake Minnetonka will begin at 6 p.m. tomorrow at the track at Minnetonka High School.
Participants in the relay will take turns walking around the track all night until dawn the next morning. The event raises money for the American Cancer Society.
Besides the walking, activities at the event include a Survivors Lap, casino games, guest speakers, karaoke and hot air balloons.

The Kmart on Highway 7 in Minnetonka will be closing Sept. 27 and the store is in the process of liquidating more than $3 million in inventory.
A company spokeswoman said the store will be closing because the lease on the building will not be renewed this fall.
There are 46 employees at the Minnetonka location, who will be notified of open positions at other nearby Kmart and Sears locations. Sears is the parent company of Kmart.

The Long Lake Open Air Market will be open 4 to 7 p.m. today at Nelson Lakeside Park in the city.
There will be vendors selling fruits, vegetables, meats, crafts and other items. For more information the market visit www.longlake-orono.org.

The Eisenhower Community Center in Hopkins is not going retro on purpose, but when renovations are completed at the facility later this summer, the architectural look of the building will look similar to when it was built in 1956.
Hopkins Public Schools is installing new insulated, energy-efficient windows at Eisenhower that will let natural light into offices, classrooms and conference rooms.
