8 students traveled around the Chesapeake Bay Watershed to experience the glocal community in their backyard. While thinking globally, they acted locally, celebrating their struggles and successes on this 8-day alternative to hangovers at exotic beaches.

Alternative Spring Break is run by the Office of Community Service-Learning and dedicated student volunteers at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Students may apply as trip leaders or participants.

  • My Dad built those houses on Port Isobel years ago when it was a private island. I was there when they put the lighthouse beacon on the one house. The big building at the dock was being built when hurricane Camille hit back in 1969. It is nice to catch a glimpse of those houses again. Thanks for doing this video.

  • he's one of them ;)
