Spent two weeks swapping in ported GT40P heads and a TFS1 cam, the stock intake is on because I ran into problems with the anderson intake I was going to use. So it'll work for now. This is my daily.

  • did you use the TFS valve spring kit?? im doing a similar setup on a red 93 notchback im swapping over to a 5-0. How much does your car put down to the wheel??

  • Yes, I'm running the TFS Spring kit. Works great no valve float yet.

No idea on power numbers, just run it; haven't been to a dyno yet.

  • did you notice a big power gain ?? im thinkin about pickin up a set of gt40's.

  • It was definitely peppier! Since I had to go back to my stock intake at the time I'm sure it had a lot more in it. I'll find out when I get my Cobra Intake on it when it gets a little warmer.

I highly recommend the GT40's or GT40P heads, they're very worth it when it comes to bang for the buck.

You have to upgrade valve springs so they don't float at higher RPM's especially with a bigger cam, and with GT40P's you need "P" specific headers. Feel free to message me if you want more info!

  • Yep. Still 13 mpg in the city! LOL

20 on the highway though. ^_^

  • Really?? Even with the cam you didn't see a difference. That is pretty awesome man. Thanks

  • It's unchanged. Go for it!

You won't see much difference in gas mileage.

  • I am just curious, I drive a 91 5.0 LX daily also and with the mods that you have, what kind of gas millage are you getting?

  • It wasn't hard for me. It's just a matter of patience and making sure you watch what you're doing.

I ran into zero problems doing the cam, and heads. The intake was used previously and had bolts and studs snapped off in it, and I didn't have the time to play with getting it to a machine shop as the car is my daily.

  • how hard was it to put in the cam?? im in need of a cam change myself, along with trickflow heads.
