Me using my thrownet to catch pinhead anchovies. The net has a five foot radius and 1/4inch nylon mesh. Live bait is used to catch halibut stripers and white seabass off the pier.

  • is it possible to do the same thing in berkeley pier?

  • @jtlpe156 Yes, you see people using thrownets in berkeley more than any other pier in california i think.

Alright thanks, is there any anchovies at the berkeley pier?

  • @jtlpe156 Not usually. The main bait over there are shiners and smelt. You can buy live anchovies from the live bait guys on K-dock

  • @Boonicat71 oh ok, are those just as effective?

  • @jtlpe156 Yes ;)
