Great job navigating the trees. For a minute there I didn't see an escape for you but you slipped by.
The first time I went to Hunting Island was in 1971 when I camped there for a week! Back then the lighthouse was left unlocked all night and there were no restrictions on climbing it. In other words it was always open. The park ranger had no objection at all when I asked to spen the night up there in a sleeping bag. You could see the purple and pink filaments of the Milky Way above.
