  • @pamcenturion03 Thanks for the comment! Maybe it's regional, en[dot]wikipedia[dot]org/wiki/Elote: "A popular street food in Mexico [...] condiments include salt, chili powder, butter, cheese, lemon or lime juice, mayo, and/or sour cream."

  • Mmmmm corn :) ps.. the boxes around your face dont work!

  • Hey good job on this but if you want it like they sell it on the street, you cut the corn like shaving it and put the corn in a cup and mix with all the stuff you put on it.

  • Your personality is just delightful.

  • @pamcenturion03 U can find it in Cuernavaca Morelos Zocalo and the recipe is good, except only for the butter

  • I went to Diwali (Indian festival) in Toronto one year and they had huge barrels of boiled corn-on-the-cob. The vendor would pull one out and use a wedge of lemon or lime to dampen the length of it, then sprinkle a curry powder on it. I don't know if it was straight up curry or cumin or coriander or a mix, but it was BEYOND awesome.

  • Yeah I've had elote (pronounced e low teh) in Mexico and they use mayo sometimes as well, and instead of the crumbly cheese, I've only seen it served with parmesan or something similar, and with hot sauce, not cayenne, but this looks like a nice twist.

  • @uleexxx Yep. You can also boil the corn and then shave it off the cob and toss it together with the other ingredients for a corn salad.

  • Ooh, sounds great! I can't wait to try this for an end of the summer treat!

  • I have no grill, could I do something like this under the broiler? :/

  • Great stuff and don't mind the haters :) I made your Momofuku style Bo Ssam jalapeno sauce and it was awesome. I didn't care for the scallion ginger sauce but neither did Steph from the momofukufor2 blog. Anyway, I've subscribed so please keep up the good work!

  • I found you guys a couple of hours ago and I can't stop watching! You've inspired me to start cooking. :)

  • I've grilled corn after wrapping herbs around it and recovering with the husky.....delicious!
