I'm from NY but the confederacy KICKED OUR ASS. Do you realize that the south had HALF the soldiers the north had, and the south KILLED MORE northern soldiers than we did confederates? The confederacy lost due to economic issues. They didn't have the industry therefore didn't have the money, but that has changed. The south is turning into the most industrial part of the US today and the economic beacon of this country.

I am only beginning to realize the scope of what you say and how true it was back then, and at the same time prominent northeastern representatives were deriding the South as the source of slaves for the "negro problem" which the north had!!!!!! And they were the ones building ships for slave-running. The Nightingale, for instance, was built in Maine and sailed from Massachusetts, it was caught off the coast of west Africa in 1861! And that was already outlawed!
