yea but it takes longer to get into i would just rether have the stock tailgate because they r easier to get to and it just swings open

A fold down tail gate has many ideal uses, dinning room table, work bench, changing table, beer holder, cutting board.

Ours uses the original paddle latch as well as a secondary latch in the upper right hand side. To have it accidentally open on the trail would be impossible.

@trailbreaker14 I no what's the point all that's gone do is come unlatched goin down the trail when u go over rocks I think the regular one is perfect cuz it swings open and latches better

You will need an aftermarket swing out bumper mounted tire carrier.

I installed this kit on my '05 TJ and I LOVE it! Easily one of my favorite mods, and it definitely holds the claimed weight. No rattles, no issues, the factory lock works without a single problem. Well, one small issue. The passenger side pin mechanism that holds that side closed is rusting. Any suggestions? Otherwise, it rocks!

Keep the toggle latch lubricated to prevent it from seizing up and or rusting. I have running the same toggle latch for 3 years with out any issues.

Head over to my website swagoffroad I sell the kit for $160 and your tailgate uses the factory locking mechanism so it will remain lockable and rattle free.
