A loccasion du 200 ème anniversaire de la naissance de Chopin (1810-2010), Alexandre Tharaud a enregistré cet album sous un angle très personnel ;
il est en effet composé de pièces qui ont marqué lartiste tel un journal intime.
« Chopin est plus que tout autre le compositeur qui a marqué et accompagné les étapes de ma vie.
Plusieurs de ses œuvres me ramènent indéfectiblement à tel événement ou telle rencontre. Jai voulu les réunir dans un seul et même programme tel un album de souvenirs personnels » Alexandre Tharaud

The music flows through his torso into those into those long, pliant fingers that give each note precisely the amount of weight and force he wants it to have. There's a lot to be learned about playing by watching him perform that magical c# minor Nocturne (which is perhaps not quite as easy as AlisonDee maintains).

as everyone knows this is not a difficult piece to play however, it's all in the interpretation and the passion. Tharaud gives it so much passion it's insane. Love it !!!
