for someone who is beyond intoxicated with Top Gear, have a G35 in the garage, and using a DV for the first time, this is what that very person might do in his free time! yes, this is my first dv film; shoot, edit and host by myself. If you think this is a Top Gear wanna be, indeed your guess is correct!
-!- this is a re post of the original video after an agreement made with BBC worldwide to resolve the copyright dispute issue... ;-( I almost hit 1000 play count in the original post for the 2 week up time...

  • This is really well-written, shot and edited. It has that Top Gear feel. Unfortunately, I doubt they'd respond that well to the G. God forbid Clarkson got his hands on it. He hates the VQ's engine and exhaust notes and would spend the whole review rambling about how some Jaguar model which costs twice as much and yet breaks down all the time is better. =)

  • @jaymum23 yes, clarkson do hate tune exhaust, hahaha. VQ35 is a pretty lazy engine actually, it isn't as rev happy as an inline-6 from a beamer or hell, no even as lively as many Japanese 4-cylinders. but for a poor-man's Aston Martin, it worth every penny, and with that price tag, nothing can really beat 1st gen G for even double the money, both in style and performance.

  • @dmitriypopov You know it! 1st gen G35s are so cheap now. Since they will just run forever like a typical Japanese car, they are a hell of a buy, even as a cheap beater. The older 2nd gens will be good and cheap soon too, once the 3rd gen debuts.

The VQ is a very torquey engine, so in a sense it has that lazy feel like a small V8. The newer HR motors still have as much torque and are more rev-happy, but tend to sound coarse at redline. I don't care though, they're too fun to drive!

  • @jaymum23 in my opinion, I think they were trying way too hard with the 2nd coupe, they had lost the simplicity that the original G once introduced. However, the Sedan/Salon version was all in a sudden became a much better looking car than the 2 doors. (which I also made a vid on the 2nd gen 4-door).

The VQ35HR does feel a lot more vivid on throttle respond, and giving it's extra 1000rpm surely kicks fun up a notch!

  • very nice. for not being a producer or belong to BBC, this was done quite well actually. i think in my off time this winter il give making top gear type videos a go.

and im thinking of buying a g35 as my next car so it was useful in the information department as well. keep up the good work. thumb up.

  • thanks, @Snakeuserorochi !

It was always fun to shoot Top Gear style car film, and this marked my first video filming ever! Looking back at it now, it really had been quite a trip, although I did run out of cars to film with lol

I had also made a review on the new G35, you can find the link on my YouTube channel; that might give you more opinion on the car

    thank again!

  • BBC reports britain is quickly catching the US with the percentage of overweight people per capita. I guess working 3 days a week and drinking boddingtons all the time catches up to yuh.

  • You wish you were a host on top gear hahaha great video though!

  • this is great! i really liked this a lot and it makes me appreciate my G35 so much more... good job!!

  • this or a 350z will be my next car. and...............shut ur australian sounding ass up.

  • tremendous effort right here!!! I thumbed you up

  • @mazdaspeedproduction the Z is a straight coupe while the G35 put it into a 2 + 2. The extra weight on the G didn't help on the performance, of course, but personally I enjoyed the elongated body in contrary to the Z. However, I must say the G was brand under 350GT under Nissan in Japan, so it is just a sport car in my mind, no luxury here...
