@locutus2011 i agree if the church before have not reformed i think it would be close like the religion of ori. i think the idea or inspiration of the ori religion on stargate was based in the medival times of the church. :D

@IanasAnd As a Catholic, I can say no, not the mainstream modern Church at any rate, though there are probably some wack jobs that call themselves Catholic who would agree with the Ori methods. The upper echelons of the Medieval Church? possibly. I also see it as what the Catholic Church could have become if the Reformation had never happened and the corruption and hypocrisy that were rampant in the Church at the time were never addressed.
