'Signposts'
Written: January 2011
Notes: This was a collaboration track between myself and my friend Chris. He came to my house on a Friday and between then and Sunday we wrote this track from scratch, recorded and mixed it. This isn't just a featured spot from Chris either; none of this track would exist if it wasn't for both of us. We started only with the inspiration we found from the production of Smooth Current a.k.a DJ Ryow, from ShinSight Trio.

Lyrics:

Down the concrete of the streets of life that led you to this place,
Passing signposts and other warnings that were placed along the way,
We carry on although we sometimes do forget the way we came.
We can't go back, those paths are blocked, they're paths we'll never roam again.

Life's roads might not lead the way you want them
Signposts guide, helping us to find our way.

And the roads we've never taken are the ones we can't go back to,
We leave signposts on the roads to which we never can return.
Some show the pictures of the faces and the places in our minds,
Some are warnings to ourselves; they warn us never to return.

Signposted roads that mark our past mistakes and greatest moments;
They can't predict the ways we're going or the places that we'll go.
Our paths are dark and we can never leave them for another road,
We walk our own and carry on until we can't walk any more.

Regret never changes all the the things we never wanted;
We learn all the hard things easily.
