After vowing not to become a lobbyist once he retired from the Senate, Chris Dodd announced today that he is the new head of the Motion Picture Association of America--Hollywood's powerful lobbying firm representing major studios Disney Pictures, Paramount, Sony, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros and Universal. Dodd couldn't resist a $1.2 million paycheck and the perks of the job (like a trip to the Oscars) and the MPAA couldn't wait to hire a Washington-connected former senator like Dodd.

It was also revealed in a New York Times article that some of Washington's most powerful lobbying firms (Tony Podesta, Robert L. Livingston and Toby Moffett) had million dollar contracts with ousted Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak and successfully influenced elected officials in America not to impose tough legislation aimed at curbing Mubarak's human rights abuses.
