"Marie! Marie!"....a hot Barnabás von Geczy record...! (1931)

This video features a record by Barnabas von Geczy from his Lindström period.... The recording is a hot one and quite different from von Geczy's later recordings...

"Marie! Marie!" was featured in the Lupu Pick movie "Gassenhauer" (another word for "Schlager" / Hit tune") and sung by none other than the Comedian Harmonists who make an appearance in this movie. The movie starred among others Ernst Busch and Wolfgang Staudte and is also known as "Marie und ihre 4 Freier".... A French language version was made as well : "Les Quatre Vagabonds"....

The video features images from prewar Berlin....
