This is a Claud Butler "Majestic" from around the late 70's and despite her age she is in great condition. Handbuilt Reynolds 531 frame and butted fork blades, she measures 58cm from the centre of the crank to the centre of the top tube. She is painted in a beautiful pale gold colour with only a few scratches and scuffs to the paintwork that you would expect from a machine of this maturity. The frame is rust free. The "deluxe" rack is painted in the same colour and has been touched up in places. Its parts are all original except for the brake and gear cables, red cable housing, and specialized handlebar tape which are all brand new. The toe clip straps are also a recent addition to the bike, but are vintage Mt Christophe.
The reason I am selling is that I have too many bikes in my cramped stable, and this one is excess to my needs. I will be sad to see her go, because as you can see, she's a real beauty.

This is a 10 speed bike with a wide range 50 x 36 alloy chainset made by Silstar,
she features Weinman centre pull calliper brakes and levers,
Esge chromoplastic mud gaurds made in West Germany,
QR alloy large flange hubs with lightweight alloy rims, the wheels run true
Suntour VX rear and front derailleurs,
alloy pedals with Mt Christophe Special toe clips and strap,
British GB alloy bars and stem,
27" touring tyres
and an original Brooks B17 leather saddle on an alloy seatpost.
There is also a matching gold bottle cage which is not pictured

She is a great ride.

  • do you know how to adjust the type of brakes that bike has?

  • My bike got stolen the other day so i went to the second hand place and pick up a new one yesterday. Its a Claude Butler Majestic in gold too! Still has all the original parts although i think the tyres are new. Love it more than anything! So much character too it! £220 which i thought was a bargain. Watching your video makes me just wanna get back on the road!

  • omg grandad's bike!!

  • I have an ELITE edition of CB 2009 model

  • What a beautiful bike! I still have a Claud Butler Majestic Two tandem. It originally came in the same colour as yours with similar decals, but I have had it resprayed. I found it very hard to find similar paint for touch-up work. It looks like you couldn't find any either. Yours looks in great condition. I love my Majestic two tandem but I had to replace all the spokes and completely replaced the whole drive chain. Goes like a dream 28 later.

  • u suck bum

  • fix it

  • how much did you get for it?

  • you've been honoured! BSNYC! google it
