DAY 1: OCTOBER 1st, 2008
by (c) Sean Taylor 2008

DAY 1: OCTOBER 1st, 2008
LOCATION: De Lorenzo's (1007 Hamilton Ave, Trenton, NJ)
ORDER: 3 slices of Italian sausage, 2 slices of clam
GUEST(S): Robin Rothman

PIZZA NOTES: Trenton Makes, The World Takes... a bite of DeLorenzo's pizza. Imagine the freshest baked pita bread uniformly toasted golden brown and now you can stop imaging. Open your eyes and you have the delicious foundation of a DeLorenzo pizza. This tasty flatbread is all you need to shovel the spicy Italian sausage, secretive family recipe tomato sauce and olive oil drenched mozzarella cheese into your mouth. Do it quickly though! Outside the oven, that cracker hardens rapidly. If you can't finish it in time, offer it to just about anyone in the Trenton area. The locals could probably point you in the direction of two DeLorenzo's before they could direct you to the capital building. Which is great. After all, New Jersey's capital can't compete with good pizza.
MISC.: I celebrated Rosh Hashana with Robin's family. Since I heard it is the Jewish New Year, I stocked up on Manischewitz and made my own New Year glasses. Click on them to see me wearing 'em.

  • Hey! You gave a shout out to me! I love shout outs!

  • My pleasure! You may have been on the receiving end of my very first "shout out." Lucky me, I was on the receiving end of De Lorenzo's delicious pizza. Thanks for the comment!

  • you should have tryed the delorenzos on hudson st. nj it is way better than the one on hamilton add you'll love the sausage their its the reall thick kind that they have to cut not that pre packaged kind go to the on hudson

  • To be fair, I have tried to go there two separate times. Once on a Tuesday and once during lunch. The hours at the Hudson location are tough to schedule a trip to Trenton by. I will try again though. A place that can afford such strange hours of operation has GOT to be good. Thanks for the comment.

  • you should try mike & nonna's pizza caffe in hamilton ,nj its excellent

  • Thanks for the recommendation. I'll look it up!

  • DAY-lorenzo's. hah! :)

seriously, you need to go to Hudson St or Sammy's new place in Robbinsville, its the same exact pizza as Hudson St.

  • I did go again. Delicious! Just thinking about your father's sausage (er...wait, that sounds dirty..you know what I mean though!) and tomato sauce really make me hungry. Nice meeting you, btw!
