i been fighting amtgard for over 5 years and idk what amtgard you played but we dont take those light taps and grazes and such this looks awsome though i would fight belgarth and probly learn somthing lol looks fun but im with wolfofthunder if you were exposed to weak amtgarders obviously thats why your opinion of amtgard is weak ...
@wolfofthunder I don't know what kind of Amtgard you have been exposed to but take a look at the fighting from the Amtgard Gathering of The Clans (Search "forest war sirblackthorn" for example) and compare the fighting to the video above. You will find more similarities than differences. It is definitely not a NERO or Gathering style of tap fighting.
@wolfofthunder belegarth and dagorhir are contact sport like the guy said and have heavy hitting not light and it was established in 1977. you have light medium and heavy hits. blue swords are under 48 inches long reds are over 48 inches long then you have flails hammers daggers bow and arrows and green swords which are for stabbing ( couch foam on tip covered by blue foam)
@averykess this isn't exactly what you would see, it literaly is like tap fighting, a simple light or tap in bel would be a death in amtgard. You hit lighter, the weapons are lighter, the sport is much faster and the weapons have less padding than bel weapons do. Bel is just the next step of contact bofer fighting up, and then there's SCA
@talesofadam8 While Amtgard does have a simplified level system and magic in some battles, I would not classify it as "Tap Fighting." The combat footage shown in this video is exactly what you would see at an Amtgard event.
@D3mQN The Belegarth wiki (geddon-org) has a pretty comprehensive list of chapters. I would definitely suggest starting your own group if there isn't one nearby. Check out the forum (at belegarth-com) and the wiki (geddon-org) to read the rules and learn about building safe weapons and recruiting!

@coldhunter94 unlike belegarth and dagorhir, amgard is more of a true LARP, i.e. classes, spellcasting, and lightly-swung weapons (tapfighting).

@Katzentatze Belegarth existed in portugal in the last 5 years, but it is dead now. There were not many people playing it..
