More Bomb Attacks in Pakistan

A bomb attack on an air force bus is the latest in a series of attacks in north west Pakistan. These attacks have been going on for the past year and residents are looking for some action. Let's see the details.

STORY:
Anxious residents of Peshawar blame Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf for a bomb attack on a bus that killed 13 in the restive North West Frontier Province on Tuesday.

Taliban forces in Pakistan say the attack was in response to military operations against al Qaeda and Taliban militants.

The attack followed days of fighting. About 150 militants, including a senior al Qaeda member, have been killed.

City residents gathered around news stands to get the latest news early on Wednesday.

[Maroof Ahmad, Newspaper Vendor]:
"Whatever is happening, it can get even worse. There is so much inflation that anybody would get ready to commit suicide. As long as Musharraf is around and the present policies remain unchanged, these blasts will continue to occur."

The blast took place on the outskirts of Peshawar as the bus drove over a bridge on its way to the city.

[Saxib Shahzad, Laboratory Technician]:
"What is left of our country? Nothing is happening in Punjab. Nothing is happening in Sindh. Nothing is happening in Balochistan. The blasts are only happening in our North West Frontier Province. All this is only happening here. I feel that Musharraf should go."

Since July last year, Pakistan has suffered a wave of militant violence. Hundreds of people have been killed, including many members of the security forces.
