@bradley1107 you dont distinguish rhytmic patterns from rhytmic note values. Every melody as such consists of rhytm values but it does not replace section. Section gives you sheer picture of intervals used
-
you don't hear the rhythm? hmm listen a little harder...not sayin it wouldn't sound great if the rest of the band kicked in, that would be cool too
-
wish i was there..nothin like beautiful melodies floating in the spanish breeze
-
ahhh i love this so much! before i heard brad and pat playing together, i thought it was impossible to get a piano and guitar sounding good together (in a duet)... now I'm of the opposite opinion!
-
oh this is so good! i like it ;)

lyle mays still hold the best,,,,

@MCalixte89 You have to pay more attention to what you read and the value your brain gives to words. 1I don't insult rock and you don't know how many types of music I like. 2 When PM and Brad interpret rock song played on non solving chord-patterns they are not anymore sock songs.3 sharing harmonic spaces is hard only for people not gifted. 4 All this compared to ACDC or that typical british-oz scrap mess is like passing from harmony into the sound you get on a construction site.
-
@nochocplease no dont insult rock because you like jazz. brad mehldau and pat metheny OFTEN interpret many rock songs. Especially Brad. Staying out of each other harmonic space is an extremely hard thing to do. These two instruments tend to occupy the same sonic space. They can easily over power each other. The only pair to be sucessful at it besides these two is Bill Evans & Jim Hall.

The Best Player of Piano and The Best Player of Guitar. Of the Moment
the magic here is how they integrate 2 harmonic instruments. They stay out of each others way harmonically and rhythmically and it sounds like one instrument. love it!!
