DAFF Snares, placed by Irish Government illegally without land owners permission. More than 55,000 Badgers killed (Freedom on info act) so far (and we still have the wrost TB record in EU)
A landowner must be consulted before a snare is laid so it IS illegal to set a snare even with a DAFF derogation from NPWS. It is NOT illegal to release a protected species (ANNEX IV HABITATS DIRECTIVE) from an illegally set snare. There are "artificially high numbers" of livestock in England. Badgers were a native species supplanted by an introduced species. Badger predation on ground birds is not a cause for bird decline. Loss of habitat through hedgerow removal Is a major concern.
You dont hear the Irish farmers crying about TB. Its apitty the English government dont have the balls to carry out a cull and reduce the numbers to stop the spread of TB and to give ground nesting birds and other rare habitats a chance to recover after years of pressure from artificially high numbers of Badgers.
Good job, I love those little fella's
p.s. watch out for my anti paocher traps,
i tend to go Predator / First blood style on em >;)
